Emotional Intelligence Assessment and Training
DEC Strategic Mentoring has developed an EQ training program that guarantees your employees will know more about themselves and others after completing the program. Our EQ assessments measure emotional intelligence (EI) and how is can impact people and the workplace. Emotional intelligence is defined as “a set of emotional and social skills that influence the way we perceive and express ourselves, develop and maintain social relationships, cope with challenges, and use emotional information in an effective and meaningful way.”
Why is EQ important?
While emotional intelligence isn’t the sole predictor of human performance and development potential, it is proven to be a key indicator in these areas. Emotional intelligence is also not a static factor — to the contrary, one’s emotional intelligence can change over time and can be developed in targeted areas.
Employee Development
EQ measures the interaction between a person and the environment he/she operates in. Assessing and evaluating an individual’s emotional intelligence can help establish the need for targeted development programs and measures. Authentic Feedback Workshop – both giving and receiving it
Giving Authentic feedback is information-specific, issue-focused, and based on observations. It comes in two varieties: Praise and criticism are both personal judgments about a performance effort or outcome, with praise being a favorable judgment and criticism, an unfavorable judgment. When you make it authentic, you give the receiver options on how to do better at any criticism you have of their work. Looking to the future is the best way to allow your employees to learn.
